An interview with Musa Soltani, the director of exclusive child network of Tebyan Institute.
Musa Soltani was born at Esfahan in 1357 A. H. He has studied software computer Engineering and served in various jobs such as being the director of Esfahan Lenjan Governorship`s administrative automation, director of information technology`s group work in Lenjan and the director of the first proposal of electronic county. He has cooperated with Tebyan Institute which is related to IDO, as the director of exclusive child network since 1387, and he teaches in Payam- e- Nour and Applied-Scientific Isfahan University nowadays.
- Please explain about the activity of the pavilions of cultural and informative Institute of Tebyan in the section of digital media in art mirror (family and digital media).
The cultural and informative Institute of Tebyan has entered the section of family and digital media in the arena of interaction and cooperation in this year. It means that we didn`t have the exhibitional attendance; however, we have cooperated with the custodians of the fair in the part of planning and implementation.
One of the largest pavilions of this section is the pavilion of the exclusive child network and Tebyan internet school which have allocated an extensive capacity of family`s section to themselves. Also, the child and media painting competition is held with the other part which has had a good interaction with the digital media and family, and this event has happened for the first time in Iran and have had a very good feedback. In this section, the children can paint by their hands or computer in 5 determined subjects in three ranks based on age and send it to us. Furthermore, they can attend the pavilions which have been established for this work that it received a good welcome and very beautiful and interesting drawings have been painted so far. Also, the posters of painting competition have been distributed among the schools before holding the fair and we have received very good works throughout the country. In the other part, we introduced the investigations and researches of Tebyan students. In this pavilion, we have presented 30 supreme investigations of students which have been in the field of software production and appreciated the excellent students in this arena. The next arena has been the work cooperation of Tebyan with digital media and holding the educational workshops and scientific meetings that we could create a very good atmosphere for the first time so that we can introduce our accomplishments in the arena of scientific, academic and theoretical foundations of information technology. In this direction, we have undertook to hold almost 20 educational workshops and invited the masters and specialized experts in the section of family and other sections of “child and teenager” to attend this workshop.
- Please explain about the purpose of launching this portal as the director of the exclusive child network project.
One of our basic distresses in Internet domain is the abuse of internet. The Internet is useful as much as it is dangerous. Unfortunately, due to this matter that the internet`s climate is unlimited from the viewpoint of general information and communications, the families always have this stress that the internet is a poisoned and polluted atmosphere that the children are involved in its dangers. The cultural and informative Institute of Tebyan has planned the proposal of this network for the first time in Middle East in order to solve this problem and provide an atmosphere over the bed of Tebyan`s internet in 30 provinces of the country that the children and teenagers can enter the exclusive child network via entering their password and user code without using the internet.
They can easily access the appropriate information to their age via the use of this network. In this network, all information is classified according to age that three age ranks of the four predicted ranks use it; below 5 years old, 6-9 years old and 10-15 years old that our addressee can use this network on the basis of the content which exist on the site. The targeted search is another current facility in this network.
- What do you mean by the targeted search in this network?
One of our problems in this nationwide internet network is this matter that search is not targeted and guides the addressee to everywhere and this matter is dangerous. In this method, we introduce the best and closet items for user in accordance with the requirement that the user seeks. The total policy of launching this network is in agreement with the confinement not dispossession. Unfortunately, most of families and schools have forbidden the use of internet and the global net`s technology. We are completely against the prohibition and believe that it is possible to use the internet well with the confinement and solve the problems of the network with purification.
- Please explain about the presentation of the recreational-educational products and software which have the fun aspects beside being a kind of education for the teenager`s lessons concepts.
We have presented new products in the educational CD section for the first time in Iran and this round of the fair. One of our distresses in the arena of educational software is that we can create a good communication with the user and also the teenagers can access the science, knowledge and learning of the lesson concepts in this communication. The educational-recreational software of Tebyan is under the degree of Tivola Company in German which have given to the children of junior high school and first high school in 3 fields of physics, chemistry and mathematics in format of game- lesson. The other stress of us has been in the arena of software production in this year that we less use the low-level work, accomplish the conceptual works and inspire the concept to the child and teenager. These educational CDs create the interactional communication and break that traditional format of education and also can easily communicate with users. Another product that we have presented in this year is “geology production” which is a very interesting 3-D set with very excellent facilities. Also, this product teaches the geology courses and the related attractive matters to the addressee.
- Have you offered any product for the children under 7 years old?
Another product which was warmly welcomed in this year and had many attractions for the addressees was scientific handicraft which will teach the various handicrafts to the children in two educational CDs. One of the other special software which is allocated to the children below 7 years old and is the joint product of Tebyan learning center and special network of child is two products of reading and writing, and counting and calculating which have been presented by us for the first time at this fair and were hailed warmly.
- How did the families welcome the family and digital media section especially the pavilions and products of the cultural and informative institute of Tebyan?
A warm welcome was given to the fair especially to Tebyan internet school`s pavilion, for the presented content by Tebyan is very attractive, conceptual and standard. The other matter is that the families see the game for one time and are aware of its content and observe the feedback of this software after playing by children and teenagers in the educational workshops. Also, these workshops create the feeling of reliance to the product in order to test it and then choose it.
- Please explain about the painting pavilion of Tebyan child and media as a custodian of Tebyan pavilions in the family and digital media section.
As I said, one of our achievements was working on conceptualism arena at this year. Unfortunately, most of the activities have got the aspect of memorization and superficial interaction with the teenager users. We should know the concept of digital media, internet, software, cell phone, etc from the viewpoint of child and teenager. This fact has been proved in all over the world that the painting is the best instrument for understanding the notional imagination of the child and teenager in fact; the child states his word by painting. In this direction, we have propounded five subjects for painting that one of them has an imaginary aspect and it is for cultivating the creative mind of children. We have told the children to paint the imaginary life of 20 years later and achievements of that time.
This competition has been formed in accordance with two important pivots of culture- developing of the digital media and modern technologies use. Also, the basic subjects like the relationship of the parents and children with the digital media, education through these media and role of computer in the daily life and ... have been considered.
Generally, the atmosphere which we have prepared is an atmosphere which can observe the mental preparation and experiences of the children in this arena. Fortunately, a warm welcome has been given to this proposal and holding these competitions as the international ones has been offered to Tebyan Institute. In addition to these matters, children on various age levels welcomed it very warmly.
