An interview with the advisor on the affairs of clergymen, Congregational Prayers leaders and Friday Prayers leaders of Markazi provincial office
The advisor on the affairs of clergymen, Congregational Prayer leaders and Friday Prayer leaders of Markazi provincial office specified the role of clergymen in the victory of the glorious Islamic Revolution of Iran via an exclusive interview with Shams Weekly Magazine on the occasion of 33rd anniversary of victory of the Islamic Revolution of Iran led by Imam Khomeini (RA).
Hojatoleslam Ahmad Rezaeian pointed to the essential and vital role of clergymen in the victory of glorious Islamic Revolution of Iran, adding that the Islamic Revolution of Iran is totally different from other revolutions of the world, and the difference lies in its divine and popular nature. Based on these principles, Imam Khomeini (RA), the founder of Islamic Revolution, who brought victory to the Islamic Revolution with the support of people, named it as the Islamic Republic and today, we are celebrating the 34th anniversary of the victory of Islamic Revolution.
He added after the Prophet Mohammad (S) and the Imams (AS) and in the occultation of the Imam Mahdi (AJ), those who revived and promoted the religion of Islam were religious authorities and clergymen who had been and are always helpers to the people. He stated that: during all eras and in all Islamic countries, the honourable clergymen were struggling against the oppression of kings and they were always aid to the people and the poor, and due to this, at the time of the past kings, many clergymen have spent a long time in exile or they have been martyred. He added that: those struggles occurred in the past helped the formation of Iranian uprising with Imam Khomeini (RA)’s leadership in 1342 (1963). The advisor on the affairs of clergymen and congregational prayer leaders and Friday prayers leaders of Markazi provincial office remarked that: it was clear and obvious to all that Imam Khomeini (RA) was the defender of divine system, and destruction of oppression in Iran and his exile to Iraq was due to this reason. Hence, today the Islamic Revolution of Iran is being known by the name of Imam Khomeini and clergymen in the world.
He further stated as the clergymen had an effective role in the debacle of the monarchy before the victory of Islamic Revolution of Iran, they well performed this momentous role after the victory of the Islamic Revolution while suffering lots of trouble in this way. Hojatoleslam Rezaeian specified that enemies of the Islamic Revolution of Iran who could not see the victory of Iranian nation started the imposed war against our country at a time when the Islamic Revolution had recently been shaped and it had no preparedness to defend itself against the enemy. However, thanks to Almighty God, the enemy failed to succeed during the 8-year imposed war.
He believes that according to the past history of Iran, whenever a war has been occurred, a part of Iran was separated from the country. While during the 8-year sacred defence against the enemy, with the guidance of the late Imam Khomeini (RA) and clergymen and sacrifice of people, not only an inch of Iran was not separated from the country, but the Islamic Revolution of Iran achieved a great victory. In another part of his speech, he pointed to the advances achieved after the victory of the Islamic Revolution and added: while during the royal oppression, Iran was not able to produce a needle, and the youths and inventors were not even allowed to invent anything, and the imperial regime wanted Iran to be in the need of Western countries; after the victory of the Islamic Revolution of Iran, thanks to the great God and brave Iranian nation, we have witnessed very significant advances in different areas. With the improvements achieved by the Iranian, the enemy will certainly increase his enmity against Iran, because he cannot see the progress and independence of Iranians.
The advisor on affairs of clergymen, Congregational Prayer leaders and Friday Prayer leaders of Markazi provincial office expressed that: as it was said by Imam Khomeini (RA) “We have to export our revolution to the world”. According to the recent Islamic Awakening occurred in the region, we are witnessing that all revolutions taken place in the region have been modelled on the Iranian revolution and after 33 years, indeed the Islamic revolution of Iran is being exported and has become a pattern for all Islamic countries. He added: if the pressures incurred to Iran by enemies during the past 33 years have been incurred to mountain, the mountain would have been fragmented. While the Islamic revolution of Iran stands stronger than mountain and has gained more experience. This indicates the existence of a divine and aware leader, spirituality of the religious references and nation and active young people with insight. Regarding the performance of the department of advisor on affairs of clergymen, Congregational Prayers leaders and Friday Prayers leaders of Markazi provincial office, he stated that: with the suggestion proposed by the general governor and his kindness and interest to clergymen and Congregational Prayer leaders and Friday Prayers leaders, it was decided that works and problems of clergymen to be resolved by the clergymen themselves. When I saw the general governor’s passion and his good idea, after retirement I started working as the advisor on clergymen and Congregational Prayers leaders and Friday Prayers leaders affair of the Markazi provincial office and I accepted this responsibility without any salary and expectations. I accepted this position just to make available the experiences I have gained during several years of Islamic revolution and the face which has been given to us by the Islamic system to my dear clergymen.
He continued since I have started working, good jobs have been done. Even though many of the works which have been done cannot be expressed, we have held clergymen and Congregational Prayers leaders and Friday Prayers leader’s meetings with the general governor, and also we have visited those disabled clergymen who have spent all their life as the Congregational Prayers leader, and we have followed-up resolving their problems. He added that: in addition to this year’s activities, we have planned detailed programs to do better activities in the upcoming year in comparison with the recent year.
Duty and Mission of the Clergymen in Creating Insight
Regarding the duty and mission of the clergymen in creating insight in the people, Hojatoleslam Rezaeian told that: some talks have been made about insight at the time of Imams (A); those people who had insight martyred along with Imam Hossein (A) or those who accompanied Imams (A) at the war, and their names have been recorded well in the history. However, those people who did not have insight, could not understand the issues; although they were Muslims and were in companion with the Prophet Mohammad (S) for several years, they failed at the time of examination. He further added: we can well understand the role of insight in the society by studying Prophets’ approach and, today we are facing these kinds of people who have been excluded from the mainstream due to having no insight.
He continued those who have insight, as said the supreme religious leader, have wisdom and power of understanding and they are into study and research, and wherever any uprising is against them, they do not attempt to do that; however, they go through losses in order to maintain the system and they think of people, adding if we believe in freedom, we should not forget the red lines and ruin the face of individuals and families. He added: one who has insight, he is the follower of the Supreme Leader of the time and is not against people, but he is sympathetic about the system and people and behaves in the framework of law.
Hojatoleslam Rezaeian pointed out to the role of clergymen in the maximum presence of people in the 9th Islamic Consultative Assembly election and added: during the past 33 years, people of the Islamic Iran showed that they understand circumstances and they are the supporter of regime and revolution and as they did before, they will have active presence in different elections and they will elect the president, the consultative assembly’s representatives and the leadership experts. Pointing to this issue that clergymen, candidates, and people have an important and effective role in holding an election, he expressed that: candidates shall have good behaviour and respect each other’s rights, because these positions are not permanent. He added: people shall also do investigate that wether a representative can speak in the Assembly and defend the regime, guardianship, and blood of martyrs or not. They even have to go to the ballot boxes with ablution as I believe that its heavenly reward is more than the pilgrimage, because casting votes to a religious and insightful follower of the Supreme Leader is a help to maintain Islam and the Revolution.
He also said that the clergymen should also keep their impartiality and should not incur their idea to people, and they should not advertise in favour of a specific person, adding that clergymen should encourage people to take part in elections in order to make enemies disappointed and frustrated with the widespread presence of people. The advisor on affairs of the clergymen and Congregational Prayers leaders and Friday Prayers leaders of Markazi provincial office explained that: clergymen should make people aware until they have all-round partnership in elections and 22nd of Bahman’s rally; of course, the media have also a clear and obvious role in this regard, and they should work in this area.
He further added: by having insight, the Iranian people once again will strike a strong blow to the mouth of enemies with their widespread attendance in 22nd of Bahman’s rally and 9th election of the Islamic Consultative Assembly. Due to the round of the Islamic Awakening happened in the region at this year, all countries keep their eyes to Iran; since after 33 years from victory of the Islamic Revolution of Iran, people are still with the Revolution.
