Ayatollah Khamenei, the Supreme Leader of the Islamic revolution, in a message on the occasion of the year 1391 said the Iranian’s economic endeavour and their jihad-oriented presence in all economic areas is a must and noted that: an important part of the economic jihad is the national production issue that if the Iranian nation can solve the domestic production problem with ambition, determination, and knowledge associated with the correct planning of the authorities, undoubtedly they will overcome the challenges raised by the enemy.
Inviting all economic practitioners and all people of Iran to move towards progressing in domestic production in the New Year, he introduced the national production, supporting Iranian capital and labour as the motto of the year 1391.
The full message is as following:
In the name of God the Compassionate, the Merciful
“Oh reformer of hearts and minds, Director of day and night, Transformer of conditions, Change ours to the best in accordance with Your will”
O Allah! Protect your vicegerent Hujjat (the Proof) ibn al-Hassan and send salutations upon him, and his ancestors, now as well as at all the times, (as our) Imam, Guardian, Supporter, and Guide until such time when you bestow upon him the honour of heading the (Divine) Government. And let the people be delighted in his reign, by bestowing success, and by extending his reign.
Oh God! Give himself and his descendants and his followers and his peasant and his special persons and his general persons and his enemy and all people of this world what is recognized in his eye and go by him.”
I congratulate all dear compatriots all around the country, all Iranian people who reside anywhere in the world, and all nations that celebrate Eyd-e-Norouz on the occasion of Eyd-e-Norouz and the arrival of the New Year. I especially congratulate the dear families of the martyrs, veterans, all sacrificers, and all activists in different fields on this occasion. I wish and pray that the Almighty God destines good days, joy, vivacity, and joyfulness to the Iranian nation in this New Year and disappoints enemies of this nation in their efforts, inshallh.
The past year-the year 1390- was one of the most eventful years all over the world and in the region and in our country. What can be observed by human is that these events ended to the benefit of the Iranian nation and in a way to help them achieve their goals. Those people who have malicious purposes in their mind about Iranian nation, Iran, and the Iranians are dealing with several problems in the Western countries. At the regional level, those nations which have always been supported by the Islamic Republic of Iran have achieved major targets: some dictators were overthrown; some constitutional laws based on Islam were passed in some countries; the major enemy of Islam and Muslims –that is the Zionist regime- was under siege. Within the country, the year 90 was literally the emerging year of the Iranian nation. At the political aspect, the Iranian nation showed such a presence both in the rally of 22nd of Bahman and the election of 12th of Esfand and recorded such an index for the national authority in the history of the region that few events in the past were like that.
Despite all hostilities, all propagandas, and all the hostile and malicious attacks, the Iranian nation was able to show his presence at the scene and his vivacity and readiness in various scientific, social, political, and economic areas during this year with all his soul and it was able to prove them. With the help of God, despite all difficulties, this year had great achievements. As it was mentioned earlier, the situation was as of Badr and Kheibar: that is the situation of accepting challenges and difficulties and overcoming them.
As it was announced at the beginning of the last year, the year 90 was the year of economic jihad. Although smart and aware people knew that this name and this orientation and motto was a necessary issue for the year 90, the efforts of enemies in that year also proved and showed this issue. Our enemies started their inimical economic movement against Iranian people from the early year, but the Iranian nation, the authorities, all people, and different organizations were able to combat against these sanctions with clever devises, and their confrontation to a large extent neutralized the effect of these sanctions and slowed down the enemy’s tactic. The year 90 was the year of great scientific movements that I, Inshallah, will explain some of the scientific and economic improvements and different efforts to our dear nation in an appropriate opportunity. The year 90 was a year full of challenges and full of joy during which the Iranian nation was able to overcome the challenges with the grace of God.
This year, we have another year ahead in which the Iranian nation will be again able to achieve various improvements with their activity, effort, and sagacity. According to my recognition and based on the reports and consulting with the informed and knowledgeable people, we reach this conclusion that the important challenging area of the current year –starts from today and from this time- will be the economic area. The economic jihad is not such a thing that has an end. Economic endeavour, jihad-oriented presence in economic areas is necessary for the Iranian nation.
This year I divide the issues related to the economic jihad. An important part of the economic issues goes back to domestic production issue. If we can boom the domestic production issue and take it forward with the help of God and will and determination of the nation and effort of authorities as it is worthy, undoubtedly a major part of the enemy’s effort will fail. Hence, an important part of the economic jihad is the issue of domestic production. If the Iranian nation can solve the problem of domestic production with their effort, determination, knowledge, and intelligence, accompanied and assisted with authorities, and along with a correct planning go through this field, no doubt they will completely and seriously overcome challenges made by the enemy. Thus, the domestic production issue is an important issue.
If we were able to boom domestic production, the issue of inflation would be solved; the issue of unemployment would be solved; and the domestic economic would be strengthened in the real word. Seeing this situation, the enemy will become disappointed and hopeless. When the enemy become disappointed, his conspiracy will end.
Therefore, I invite all authorities of the country, all practitioners of the economic area, and all dear people of the country to put this year as the year to boom the domestic production. Thereupon, this year’s motto is “National Production, Supporting Iranian Capital and Labour”. We have to be able to support Iranian workers’ job; to support the capital of the Iranian capitalist; and this will only be possible with strengthening the domestic products. The government’s role in this regard is to support domestic industrial and agricultural productions. The capitalists’ and workers’ portion is to strengthen production cycle and to speed up the production. And the people’s portion –which I think is more important among these portions- is to use domestic products. We have to make it as a habit, as a culture, and know it a must to use every product that has the same domestic production and its domestic production is realized from the place of domestic production and seriously avoids using foreign production in all areas: areas of daily consumption and more major and more important areas. Hence, we hope that with this trend, orientation, and approach, the Iranian nation can again overcome conspiracy of enemies, guile of rancour in economic area.
We ask God to help the Iranian nation to succeed in this area and in all areas, to make spirit of the Imam (RA) happy and satisfied from us, and gather up the pure spirit of our dear martyrs with their divine parents.
