Sacred Defense Poetry Originates from Ashura Culture

 

The main source of the sacred defense poetry is the epic culture of Ashura, said the head of Qom province’s Eulogists and Poets Association.

Mohammad-Ali Mojahedi said in an interview on last Monday: some dos and don’ts have been proposed in the Ashura Poetry culture and the glorious revolution of Islamic republic of Iran has been affected by the components of the culture of Ashura, according to the reports of public relations of Qom province’s Islamic development department.

The culture of Ashura has words of beauty from which the sacred defense has been inspired and appeared in reality, he reminded.

The sacred defense being affected by the Ashura culture is pioneer in the subjects to which the poets of this field give attention, specified the author of the “a sea of thirst”.

Pointing to the progress of the Sacred Defense poetry, Mojahedi said: in the last two decades, the poetry of sacred defense has achieved a special dignity and situation among different Persian poems.

Clarification of devotion, humanity, martyrdom, legitimacy, justice and finally jihad (holy war) and martyrdom are the effective subjects in the sacred defense poetry and poets make efforts to clarify the words of beauty and human-building messages in the works which create mental images, reminded the head of Qom province’s Eulogists and Poets Association.

Poets have taken advantage of the imaginative and mystical issues in order to describe different scenes of the eight-year sacred defense for the audiences, specified the author of “travelling in heaven?”.

Stating that the poetry of sacred defense has a special dignity and situation, Mojahedi said: we hope that this tree becomes huger day by day and the sacred defense poetry will be introduced as the most original foreign poem to the world, so that everybody will know it; this goal should be fulfilled very soon.
