Having made a pilgrimage to the holy shrine of Hazret Masoumeh (S), the supreme Leader of the Islamic revolution attended among the large crowd of people in Qom city and responded to their warm and sincere feelings, according to the reports of public relations of Qom province’s Islamic development department.
In this meeting, Grand Ayatollah Khamenei called Qom as the city of " Knowledge, Jihad and Insight "; referring to the formation of this city based on the jihad-oriented movement along with insight, he added: during the history, Qom has been the great base of the Ahlulbiet (AS)’s teachings and at the present, as the source of the best Islamic and divine teachings, it has provided the East and West of the Islamic world with the blessings of its greatest scholars’ endeavors and insight.
Reminding the lasting role of Qom people in the critical period of the Iran’s contemporary history i.e. the Ashura day in 1342 and the 15th of Khordad Uprising, Ayatollah Khamenei added: the people of Qom supported by the late Imam Khomeini (RA) launched the Movement of the clergy in the society as in the year of 1356 (Iranian calendar year), they consciously perceived the depth of the complex conspiracy of Shah’s regime to insult the late Imam (RA) and sacrificed their youths’ life in order to develop the Islamic movement and changed this city into the origin of the great Islamic revolution.
The supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution knew the people of Qom as the sincere, honest and kind people enjoying an exemplary insight, adding if the people of Qom weren’t aware, the enemies’ dangerous plans which threatened this city would be successfully implemented.
Ayatollah Khamenei named the holy city of Qom as the base of insight and jihad in the light of people’s awareness and the existence of the Seminary in this city, reminding the people of Qom appreciate the clergies and seminary and have maintained their blessed presence in the arenas to defend Islam and the revolution during these recent 32 years.
He knew that the fact that the Islamic revolution was formed in the most religious city of the country, i.e. Qom under the leadership of the late Imam Khomeini (RA) as a great Jurisprudent and honorable scholar proves the religious nature and essence of the Iranian nation’s revolution; he also added: having perceived the effect of the Iranian religious revolution, the enemies of the revolution make their best effort to hit this prosperity-creating nature.
Ayatollah Khamenei said that the two main goals of the global arrogance is to hit the "religion" and "loyalty of the people", reminding if the element of religion hadn’t exist, the revolutionary authorities would have compromised with enemies, but the religion of Islam doesn’t allow Muslims to surrender to tyranny, and it brings justice, freedom, spirituality and progress.
Pointing to the various conspiracies of the international arrogance to undermine and deny the religious truths, he added: the matter of Salman Rushdie, some western anti-religious films, offensive cartoons and the Quran burning are some of the useless efforts of the enemies of Islam.
Ayatollah Khamenei knew strengthening and relying on our abilities, increasing insight and confidence to the divine promises as the "great lesson of the late Imam Khomeini (RA) for the great Iranian nation,” adding Imam Khomeini taught us that if we faithfully stand and manage against enemies, surely we achieve the divine victory.
The supreme leader of the Islamic Revolution said that the second goal of the enemies’ plots is to destabilize the loyalty of people to the Islamic system, adding in addition to the element of religion, the presence and strong support of people backs the officials of the Islamic system, so the enemies have aimed at the loyalty of people to the system.
The supreme leader of the Islamic Revolution mentioned that 40 million people attended the last year's presidential election and it was a national referendum to express their loyalty to and trust in the Islamic system, adding angry enemies tried to undermine that national presence by constructing plots, but people stood in front of the intrigue and once again the enemies were defeated.
He mentioned that promoting the separation of religion from politics and Islam minus the politics is the other tactics of the global arrogance, adding: the roadmap and outline of the enemies to fight the Islamic system can draw a roadmap for us as well.
At the end of his speeches, Ayatollah Khamenei put emphasis on some basic points as the necessities of people's behavior and officials. National unity was the first point which he discussed.
The political figures and the general public should seriously promote the national unity not just with words, but also with action, because the national unity has some indices to which we should be committed, Ayatollah Khamenie reminded.
Strengthening the religious belief, responding to the youths’ intellectual needs and their doubts and questions was the other basic point to which Ayatollah Khamenei advised the clergy and the seminaries.
Efforts of clergies, intellectuals and knowledgeable people to introduce the "true and righteous clergy, the efforts of youths to promote their insight in order to identify enemies, the necessity of further acceleration to achieve scientific progress and making efforts to solve people's problems were the other basic points which the supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution mentioned in his remarks.
